Sophia D’Addio

Fellow, 2018-19

PhD candidate, ABD

PhD candidate Sophia D’Addio was awarded a Casa Muraro Summer Research Fellowship to spend eight weeks in Venice and the Veneto completing her dissertation, “Painted Organ Shutters in Renaissance Italy.” Building on an academic year fellowship at the Rosand Library & Study Center, Sophia is using her time this summer to make important site visits to Carzago Riviera, Salò, Lovere, Cologna Veneta, Marcellise, Schiò, Vittorio Veneto, Oderzo, and Udine to see works by several artists, including Paolo Veronese, Jacopo Palma il Giovane, and Moretto da Brescia.  These visits, along with dedicated writing time, source checking, and supplementary reading in Venetian libraries will allow Sophia to submit her dissertation for defense upon returning to New York City.
